Healthy Steps is located in Astoria Oregon and provides In-home training for those who prefer a more private setting than a gym.  I will provide any equipment needed for your in-home workouts and offer many types of workout plans depending on your needs.  I can also work with clients at the Astoria Aquatic Center gym. It is my vision to provide quality health and fitness coaching and improve the health and wellness of our community here in Clatsop County. By teaching a positive lifestyle to more people, I hope to have a positive effect on future generations to come. 

           PERSONAL TRAINING

 

Having a personal trainer and health coach will help you to stay on track and get the results you want.

Many people tell me that they know how to exercise and have home equipment, but just need someone to motivate them to use it.  I keep my clients focused by setting attainable goals, holding them accountable to do the exercises and reccomending healthy food choices that will fuel the body to achieve optimal health. I will also help you overcome barriers that have prevented you from maintaining good health in the past and find ways to be more active and achieve long term change.

           GROUP FITNESS

Healthy Steps can provide group fitness classes and has been doing so for 26 years.   Small group fitness classes are a great way to save on the costs of personal training, and have the encouragement of other group members to keep everyone motivated.  I can lead weight loss groups at your home or workplace, HITT Workouts, Beach workouts or Circuit training.

           FAMILY FITNESS

Sometimes it is good to take a team approch when a family is dealing with weight issues due to improper diet and lack of activity. As a trainer and health coach, I can help you learn new healthy ways to cook, clean out the kitchen of all the foods that will prevent success, and help your family set weekly goals to get active and improve overall health. Even if some family members are not overweight, they can often learn to eat healthier and enjoy the group family activities.

           SENIOR FITNESS

Balance and Mobility training is important for Seniors to prevent falls and long term injurys.  Resistance exercises will help increase bone density and maintain muscle. Assisted walking is provided for those who can't safely walk on their own. Having a trainer visit on a regular basis for 30 minute sessions can also provide a healthy activity and companionship for those who are less active or live alone.

         NUTRITIONAL GUIDANCE 

As an ACE certified Health Coach, I can help my clients make healthy food choices and identify previous problems with their diet. We can talk about triggers and find ways to overcome negative eating behaviors. If you have had problems in the past of losing weight and gaining it back, having a health coach to keep you accountable can help you learn new ways to lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.
